Visitors arriving on Australian and New Zealand passports, no. Most countries are visa exempt but do check that you have at least 6 months validity on your passport from your travel dates!

The easiest and most economical is to fly to Brisbane and catch a direct flight to Santo with Solomon Air.  Of course, for those coming via Port Vila Air Vanuatu has plentiful flights to and from Santo which online bookings are easy to make.  For those on a stricter budget or simply looking for a new experience ferry transfers are available to and from Port Vila.

There is one pharmacy in Luganville which stocks many items however will be more expensive because they must be imported. If you think you may need things like Panadol, Band-Aids, etc perhaps pack a First Aid kit.  Here at Coral Quays Resort we maintain a comprehensive First Aid kit with most of our team certified in First Aid practices.  Luganville has a public hospital and a private medical clinic for emergencies.

Yes! Yes!, and Yes! It’s highly recommended to take out travel insurance when visiting Vanuatu. You can easily buy a Digicel or Vodafone tourist SIM card in town. Both offer visitor packages with data, calls, and texts. Digicel has wide coverage across the island, and Vodafone provides competitive options, especially in urban areas.

Just bring your passport to purchase a SIM. Top-ups are available at shops and supermarkets.  These SIMs are convenient for staying connected during your trip.

Your phone can be activated for global roaming by your provider before you leave Australia - Vodafone in Australia have a $5 per day offer for roaming as does Telstra

Yes, it’s a good idea to bring reef shoes when visiting Vanuatu. Getting around Santo is very easy - you just hop a bus or hail a taxi. The buses have a “B” on the number plate, and you can just flag them down. It’s first on first off so you may take the scenic route to get where you are going but that’s all part of the Santo fun.   A taxi is identified by a “T” on the number plate, and you can flag them down. The driver will take you to your requested destination immediately, but it is always best to ask and agree to a price first.   Oh, and a bus here is usually a pickup truck where you jump in the back (open air) and ride with friendly locals.

We have a tropical climate, days are sunny with occasional warm tropical showers.  The hottest months are usually February and March and the coolest are July and August - just a light jacket in the winter of an evening and lots of swimmers all year round.  Expect daytime temperatures to range between 24°C and 31°C, with occasional rain showers, especially during the wet season from November to April.

There isn’t a ‘cyclone season’ as such – November to April is classed as Wet Season but still has plenty of very warm sunshine. Cyclones do come and go but they certainly don’t happen every year 

To hold and confirm a booking, a 50% deposit is required, upon check-in the room balance is payable.

Deposit payments are non-refundable if you cancel less than 14 days prior to arrival. If you cancel with at least 15 days' notice, your deposit is fully refundable.

Vanuatu local currency is vatu (VUV).  Money is easily exchanged at Pekoa – Santo Airport or in Luganville at Goodies or Western Union. Rates are more favourable when you exchange your money here rather than your home country and there are no exchange fees.  Our prices include VAT

Yes, we accept Mastercard and Visa, however there is a 4% surcharge when using cards to pay, this is what we are charged by the banks to process.  ATM’s are available in Luganville.

Yes, restaurant and bar purchases may be charged back to your room and must be settled by cash or card (a 4% surcharge applies) at checkout. Of course, you are welcome to pay as you go if you prefer.

Check-in is available from 2pm, but if your room is ready earlier, you're welcome to check in before then. Checkout is at 10am; however, if the room hasn't been booked by other guests, we can offer a complimentary late checkout.

We recommend packing lightweight and casual clothing suitable for warm weather, swimwear, reef shoes, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, insect repellent, and comfortable walking shoes for exploring the island.  A lightweight jacket or wrap will be enough for cooler days/nights.
